Let's say the drawing is 8-3-6. Using our groups, the drawing is actually 3-2-2 being that the 8 was in the third group and the 3 and 6 were both in the second group. This is a very significant factor. If you look at the history of the winning numbers drawn from your states pick 3 lotto, you will see that this will happen more frequently than one number being drawn from each group or all three numbers being drawn for each group.
